Mr. Henry brings more than 20 years of high technology experience to Entropic. Mr. Henry has served in executive management roles in companies ranging from small, innovative startups to large multinationals. Just prior to Entropic, he served as president and CEO of Pictos Technologies, developers of digital imaging products, and exited after completing a multimillion-dollar sale of the company to ESS Technology. Before that, Mr. Henry was CEO of LinCom Wireless, a chip company focused on 802.11 wireless LAN products. Mr. Henry also served as a vice president and general manager at LSI Logic, and was a senior vice president at C-Cube Microsystems, a pioneer in the development of digital video ICs. Mr. Henry has also held sales and marketing management positions at Hyundai Electronics America (now Hynix) and AMD. Mr. Henry has his MBA from the University of Southern California, and holds a Bachelor in Engineering Science and Mechanics, with high honors, from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Itzhak Gurantz PhD
Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Gurantz has more than 30 years of experience in developing advanced digital communications systems, products and components. He managed and led the development of numerous innovative system, products and integrated circuits solutions for digital DBS, digital cable STB and cable modems, digital wireless STB and others. After receiving his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 1978, Dr. Gurantz worked at Linkabit Corporation until 1984 when he co-founded ComStream Corporation, holding engineering and R&D leadership positions. Following the sale of the Hi-Media division of ComStream to Rockwell Semiconductor (now Conexant Systems) in 1997, Dr. Gurantz served as vice president of engineering for the Digital Infotainment Division. His B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering degrees were received from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel.
David Lyle
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Lyle brings over 20 years of finance experience from both the semiconductor and commercial banking industries. He joined Entropic as CFO through the acquisition of RF Magic where he also served as CFO. He joined RF Magic from Broadcom Corporation, a leading provider of highly integrated semiconductor solutions. Prior to Broadcom, he was CFO at Zyray Wireless, a WCDMA baseband co-processor startup, which was acquired by Broadcom. Mr. Lyle also served as CFO at Mobilian Corporation, a wireless data communications semiconductor startup which was acquired by Intel Corporation. Prior to Mobilian, he served in various finance roles at Intel in the microprocessor and networking groups and also served in Intel Capital focusing on mergers and acquisitions primarily for the wireless communications and computing group. Earlier in his career, Mr. Lyle worked in commercial banking focusing on leveraged buy-outs. Mr. Lyle received his undergraduate degree in business from the University of Southern California and an M.B.A. from Arizona State University as well as Master of International Management (MIM) degree from The Garvin School of International Management (Thunderbird).
Lance Bridges
VP Corporate Development and General Counsel
Mr. Bridges has over 16 years of experience in general business and corporate law matters, with particular emphasis in mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions and working with technology companies. Prior to joining Entropic, he was a partner at Cooley Godward Kronish LLP, where he practiced law since 1991. Mr. Bridges received a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), in 1990, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as associate editor of the California Law Review. He concurrently earned an M.B.A., concentrating in finance and strategic planning, from the Walter A. Haas School of Business Administration, University of California, Berkeley. In 1985, he received a B.A., magna cum laude, in economics from the University of California, San Diego. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Bridges worked for a regional investment banking firm as a financial analyst specializing in business valuations and M&A advisory services. Mr. Bridges is a member of the State Bar of California and the Business Law section of the American Bar Association. Mr. Bridges was selected for the 2006 edition of The Best Lawyers in America for the Leveraged Buyouts and Private Equity Law category and the 2007 edition for the Corporate Law category.
Michael Economy
VP Worldwide Sales
Mr. Economy has more than 20 years experience in semiconductor sales and marketing. Over the past several years he has managed the sales penetration and growth activities for a wide range of global accounts such as Compaq, HP, IBM, Dell, Northern Telecom, Sun Micro, Acer, ViewSonic, Creative Labs, and others. In addition, he brings a wealth of OEM and retail-channel experience to Entropic, a notable plus as the company expands into these key areas. Prior to joining Entropic Communications, he was vice president of OEM sales for graphics-chip maker Trident Microsystems, also helping to spearhead the nascent plasma and digital television display markets. Before that, he was vice president of marketing with Synergy Semiconductor where he gained extensive knowledge in managing the company's efforts in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Japan prior to the company being acquired by Micrel. His career began with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) in product engineering, where he swiftly moved on to technical and product marketing management positions in EPROM and Flash memories, a category in which the company continues to lead. Mr. Economy holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in Solid State, Microwave and Quantum Electronics from the University of California, Davis.
Tim Pappas
VP Operations
Mr. Pappas has more than 20 years of semiconductor product and test engineering experience. In his current role, Mr. Pappas manages Entropic's global supply chain, quality & reliability engineering, and product & test engineering. Before joining Entropic, he managed the product engineering group for Mindspeed Technologies which develops a range of advanced telecommunications and networking ICs. He served in similar roles at Conexant Systems and its predecessor company, Rockwell International, during a period of explosive growth in the company's DSL chipset business. Other experience includes senior product engineering positions with industry pioneers Brooktree and TRW, where he drove product qualification and commercialization efforts for a variety of communications, video and A/D converter products. Mr. Pappas holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from San Diego State University.
Stephen Blake
VP Business Development
Mr. Blake has over 30 years of experience in the marketing, sales, and engineering of high technology businesses at RF Magic, Conexant, ComStream, and Linkabit. Most recently at RF Magic, he was the Vice President of Business Development. At Conexant, as the Vice President of Marketing for Consumer Products, he led the digital satellite, cable and terrestrial set-top businesses with annual revenues of over $100M. In 1997, while heading the digital satellite and cable group at ComStream, he led the sale of the division to Rockwell, which later became Conexant. He co-founded ComStream in 1984, where he held management positions in business development, marketing, and sales. Before founding ComStream, he held product design and engineering management positions at Linkabit. Mr. Blake holds BS, MS, and EE degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
John Graham
VP Marketing
Mr. Graham has more than 20 years of executive sales, marketing, and management experience in the semiconductor industry. He was vice president of worldwide sales for wireless chip company picoChip prior to joining Entropic, positioning the company for fast growth in the emerging Wi-Max market. Before that he co-founded and was named CEO of Transitive Technologies, developers of technologies to allow software compiled for one CPU to run on a different CPU with no performance penalty, where he closed $11 million in customer deals. Mr. Graham served as vice president of marketing for Conexant in the late '90s, responsible for the company's video and broadband chips, growing sales from single digits to more than $140 million in three years to a "who's-who" of consumer electronics companies including NEC, Microsoft, Sony, DIRECTV, and Samsung among others. He also managed the graphics business unit for Brooktree Corporation, and held marketing and engineering positions with Precision Monolithics and Ferranti Microelectronics early in his career. Mr. Graham grew up in England, and holds a bachelor's degree in science from the University of Nottingham, and an MBA from the University of San Diego.
Susan Huberman
VP Corporate Marketing and Communications
Ms. Huberman has nearly 20 years experience in strategic marketing management for private and public companies in consumer electronics, high tech and consumer packaged goods. Before joining Entropic, she was VP of corporate marketing at Cymer, Inc., where she led corporate branding and strategic marketing. Prior to that Ms. Huberman was founder and chief marketing officer of MOD Consulting, a strategic marketing firm serving the marketing needs of growing companies. Before MOD, Ms. Huberman was chief marketing officer for Iomega Corporation where she was responsible for global communications, brand management, customer support and emerging technologies. She was VP of Marketing at Munchkin, Inc., has held a variety of senior marketing positions at Hewlett Packard, and began her career in consumer packaged goods at Alberto Culver. Ms. Huberman was also a management consultant in Accenture's consumer products practice. Ms. Huberman has been a requested speaker and facilitator on brand strategy, customer centric marketing and marketing measurement at industry conferences sponsored by the American Marketing Association, the CMO Council, Marketing Focus North America, Marketing Focus Europe and Frost Sullivan. She is a contributing author in the business book series Inside the Minds, Leadership in Marketing and was nominated for the Athena Pinnacle Award recognizing women leaders in technology. Ms. Huberman has a M.B.A. from The Wharton School in Strategic Planning and Marketing Management, and her B.S. in Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University.
Andre Chartrand
VP Broadband Engineering
Mr. Chartrand is an industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience in semiconductor design, development and engineering management with system-on-a-chip companies. Prior to joining Entropic, Mr. Chartrand was the vice president of engineering for Transwitch Communications, where he was responsible for 150 design engineers worldwide. In his distinguished high-tech career, Mr. Chartrand has held VP and director-level engineering management positions with leading multinational companies including BitBlitz Communications (now Intersil), Cognigine (now Huawei), Velio Communications, Cradle Technologies, Chromatic Research, VLSI Technology, Inc., GTE Microcircuit and Mitel Semiconductor. Mr. Chartrand holds a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique, University of Montreal.
Dale Hancock
VP RF Engineering
Mr. Hancock has over 18 years of industry experience in product design and development at RF Magic, Conexant, ComStream, and Linkabit. His expertise includes RF systems engineering, receiver and transmitter design, and design for high volume consumer applications. Most recently Mr. Hancock was the CTO, VP of Engineering and co-founder of RF Magic. Prior to RF Magic he led RF Systems Engineering at Conexant and ComStream. Mr. Hancock is credited with inventing a number of industry firsts, including the world's first silicon tuner for Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS), the world's first high performance silicon tuner for reception of terrestrial television, and the world's first Channel Stacking Switch RFIC for DBS. Mr. Hancock holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from San Diego State University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego.
Jonathan Masel
VP General Manager Entropic Israel
Mr. Masel has over 25 years of experience in the development of embedded software systems, engineering management and entrepreneurship, having nurtured two successful companies from start-up to acquisition. Mr. Masel founded and managed Arabella Software, a leading provider of highly innovative and high-performance software communications systems that was acquired by Entropic in April, 2007. Prior to Arabella, Mr. Masel founded and managed Inverness Systems, an embedded software company that specialized in hardware-software integration and communication protocols with highly successful packages of MPLS, IP, ATM and Frame Relay. Inverness was acquired in 2000 by Virata Corp following which Mr. Masel served as President of Virata Israel for over 2 years. Mr. Masel also held the position of software team leader at Motorola Semiconductor Israel. Mr. Masel holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Western Australia and a Masters Degree in Computer Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Suzanne Zoumaras
VP Human Resources
Ms. Zoumaras has over 15 years of human resource and management experience in venture-backed start ups and fast-growing, multi-national organizations. Before joining Entropic, Ms. Zoumaras was the Vice President, Worldwide Human Resources for Biosite Incorporated where she lead the transformation of the human resources function to improve delivery of HR services, enhance employee relations and better manage talent acquisition. Prior to Biosite, Ms. Zoumaras held a variety of human resource positions at technology companies including Ensemble Communications, Conexant Systems and Cadence Design Systems. In addition to her corporate experience, Ms. Zoumaras also managed her own human resources consulting firm working with the executive teams of emerging companies in high tech and life sciences. Currently, she is an instructor in the HR certification program at San Diego State. Throughout her career, Ms. Zoumaras has held board positions at a number of human resources organizations and non-profits and is a regular speaker on the topics of talent acquisition and employee engagement. Ms. Zoumaras earned her B.S. in Business Administration and her Human Resources Management certification from San Diego State University.
Anton Monk, PhD
VP Technology
Dr. Monk has over 15 years of experience in communication systems research and development. He is responsible for new technology, standards activities and patents at Entropic. Previously, he led the engineering development of Entropic's coax-based multimedia networking chipset development. Prior to co-founding Entropic, he led physical layer system design and IC verification for several Conexant product lines, including cable modems and fixed wireless access. He was also responsible for standards development in these areas and for business development and partnering in the fixed wireless arena. Before Conexant, Dr. Monk was involved in the development of cable and satellite ICs at ComStream Corporation, and performed communication system research at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, CA. Dr. Monk holds a B.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology.
Sreen Raghavan, PhD
VP Technology
Dr. Raghavan has over 20 years of experience in the architecture, design and development of high performance broadband integrated circuits (ICs). Prior to joining Entropic, he founded Vativ Technologies, a high performance semiconductor company that designed and manufactured digital television ICs. Before Vativ, Dr. Raghavan co-founded and served as Chief Technology Officer at Comcore Semiconductor, Inc., a venture-backed startup that developed DSP-based Gigabit Ethernet physical layer and media access controller ICs. After National Semiconductor's acquisition of Comcore in 1998, Dr. Raghavan continued to lead National's San Diego design center until 2001. Prior to founding Comcore, Dr. Raghavan served as the Director of R&D at Comstream Corporation where he was responsible for the development of a variety of digital transmission products including digital satellite and digital cable receiver ICs. Dr. Raghaven holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego.
Kurt Noyes
VP Finance and Chief Accounting Officer
Mr. Noyes has more than 22 years of finance and accounting experience including four years with a national public accounting firm and 13 years with high technology companies. Mr. Noyes has extensive experience ramping up startups from inception to significant levels of revenue. Prior to joining Entropic, he held various management positions with Camino Neurocare Inc., Anchor Chips Inc., ProFlowers.com, Applied Micro Circuits Corporation, and Cargo Technology. Mr. Noyes holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, with high honors, and an Executive MBA from San Diego State University. He is also a California licensed CPA.
