Entropic Communications Receives 2009 Cable.TMCnet.com Product of the Year Award

Entropic's Third-Generation c.LINK Solution for MoCA Home Networking, the EN2510 is Honored for Outstanding Innovation

LAS VEGAS, Jan 8, 2010 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX News Network) -- International CES -- Entropic Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:ENTR), a leading provider of silicon and software solutions to enable connected home entertainment, today announced that its third-generation, MoCA 1.1 compliant, single chip solution, the EN2510, has received a 2009 TMCnet.com Cable Product of the Year Award from Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC).

Entropic's EN2510 supports the latest MoCA 1.1 (Multimedia over Coax Alliance) standard to enable a robust network solution that uses existing coaxial wiring in the home to distribute high-definition video, music, pictures and internet content throughout the home. Already deployed in millions of service provider homes, Entropic's silicon solutions are delivering multiple streams of HD video with operator levels of reliability. Entropic's innovative single-chip EN2510 is the first chip to integrate the baseband MAC/PHY, analog front-end, and the RF transceiver into a small 15x15 mm package while lowering cost, improving throughput and maintaining the high level of robustness and quality of service that operators have come to expect from Entropic products.

"Today's consumers have an insatiable appetite for content and Entropic's vision to enable high bandwidth and ubiquitous home entertainment around the world is validated by this honor from TMC for our EN2510 home networking solution," stated Patrick Henry, CEO of Entropic Communications. "Having deployed over 20 million chips into tier one service providers, Entropic solutions are field-proven and a must-have solution for all operators. The EN2510 has higher performance, lower power, and a smaller footprint, providing customers with lower overall system costs and offering best-in-class value for next-generation connected products requiring operator class reliability and throughput performance of a MoCA home network."

"Cable.TMCnet.com is pleased to grant a 2009 Product of the Year Award to Entropic Communications for their EN2510. Entropic has proven they are committed to quality and excellence while addressing real needs in the marketplace," said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. "We're proud to honor their accomplishments in the advancement of the cable technology industry."

The 1st Annual Cable.TMCnet.com Product of the Year Award winners will be featured on the Cable.TMCnet.com Web site and published in its e-newsletter. For more information about the 2009 Cable.TMCnet.com Product of the Year Awards or any of the TMC media properties, please visit www.tmcnet.com.
